Day Eighteen

Our day started with a river ford and then a steep climb up Woods Creek to the junction with the Muir trail. Here we come to the dreaded (by Llona) crossing of Woods Creek on a supension bridge. This contraption has to be the most ill conceived bridge we have ever seen! If a person has any problem with heights or balance this could potentually be a dangerous bridge to cross as it sways constantly. Also some of the floor boards seemed to be cracking as we crossed! Anyway, after the bridge we continued onward and upwards toward our campsite at middle Rae Lake on one of the more scenic areas of the Muir Trail. Several campsites can be found at this lake, along with two bear boxes. Watching the moon rising over Rae Lake is a particularly unique experience.
