Day Ten
As the morning was a bit cold we got a little later start than usual but the trail up Bear Creek toward Seldon Pass is so pretty that it was pleasant to dawdle for a change. We soon crossed Bear Creek and then reached Rosemarie Meadow, where we crossed West Fork Bear Creek on our way to Marie Lake, a beautiful shallow alpine lake with several islands and sparkling clear water, shortly arriving at Seldon Pass. Leaving the pass, we descended past Heart Lake and Sally Keyes Lakes before dropping steeply to meet a trail to Florence Lake. We then began a moderate climb toward the Piute Creek trail where we crossed a bridge into Kings Canyon National Park. Just across the bridge are several pleasant campsites of which we chose one.
